King's Lynn Local Transport Plan
The second Local Transport Plan for Kings Lynn was prepared in tandem with a development framework for the town centre. This provided a rare chance to integrate land use and transport proposals and policies.
The diagram to the right is an example of traffic management ideas explored during the study.
The draft LTP prepared for Norfolk County Council in June 2005 can be viewed from the right sidebar. Key concepts put forward including the rationalisation of parking into multi-storey car parks at the edge of the town centre, and the creation of a system of "parking routes" to encourage "drive to, not through", made it into the 2006 Local Transport Plan for Norfolk. However, the 2011 3rd LTP for Norfolk was a more general document which did not include specific objectives or measures for King's Lynn.
