Michael Thomson - the brains behind the fight to stop "ringway" roads around London
An obituary for J. Michael Thomson, written by Tim Pharoah in association with Terence Bendixson and the late Stephen Plowden. It was published in The Guardian on 13th July 2010.

Tim Pharoah worked alongside Michael Thomson at the Greater London Group at the London School of Economics in the early 1970s, whilst at the same time acting as secretary of the London Amenity & Transport Association (LATA), which was founded and chaired by Michael, and which led the case against the London motorway plan (published by the GLC in 1969, and abandoned in 1974).
A further (similar) obituary was published by the same three authors in Local Transport Today around the same time (copy of text to the right).
