Transport & Land Use Planning in London - 1983
The paper points to issues with transport planning in London, including its organisation, and calls for a stronger role for both the GLC and the Boroughs in strategic transport and land use integration. Against this, the subsequent abolition of the GLC may be seen as a willfully destructive act of vandalism against the city.
The seminars were instigated by Tim Pharoah in response to the growing antagonism between the Thatcher Government and strategic planning generally, and the Greater London Council in particular.
To the right is Tim Pharoah's overview paper, and the seminar introduction by Sean McConnell (with the list of contents and seminar contributors)
