What Happens where Public Transport Meets Public Realm? 1994

The paper describes how the interface between public transport stations and stops and the areas they serve has been eroded by provision for the car. It argues for re-focusing development around public transport facilities, including better public realm design in the vicinity of stations and stops.

It is gratifying to note that in the years since this paper was delivered, there have been many improvements in London in line with the recommendations made.

The paper, which includes four photos, can be downloaded to the right.
