New Thinking About the Car: Alternatives to Individual Ownership - 1987
This report sets out the benefits of car sharing (shared car ownership, not ride sharing) and advocates this as a solution to many of the social and environmental problems associated with the car. It sets out a scenario as to how schemes could be implemented, and describes early shared car schemes in Europe and the USA.
The research on which the report is based was financially assisted by the Nuffield Foundation.
