South Holland Markets and Car Parks Strategic Review

South Holland Markets and Car Parks Strategic Review

The project was commissioned by South Holland District Council in 2014 and undertaken by AR Urbanism, with Tim Pharoah leading on the transport and parking aspects of the work.

The report (available to the right) examines the transport and access arrangements in the market towns, identifies some key issues and makes some suggestions for bringing about improvements.

It was concluded that improvements to the public realm were needed to attract more visitors and customers, and to encourage them to stay longer (and spend more) on each visit. Provisions for vehicles were found to be dominating the public realm, making it unpleasant to stay or linger.
