Car-free housing
Car-free housing was much-discussed in the 1990s as a way of encouraging "green" lifestyles, reducing the environmental and other impacts of the car, and achieving high housing densities without sacrificing open space standards. The advent of car clubs (shared cars) provided an added stimulus to the concept. This album provides some examples of car-free housing in the UK, Germany and Netherlands.
