Hanover - Tram stops as art

In Hanover (Germany), local artists were invited to design tram stops. The result is a variety of unusual designs. My favourite is the "talking tram stop". Two concave dishes are placed behing a pair of seats on either side of the tram stop, and the sound of people talking on one side is compressed and transmitted to the other side. This enables someone on one side of the street to talk to someone waiting for a tram on the opposite side. Of course it also helps to know that what you are saying can be heard by others 9 metres away!
